The Gombe State Police command showcased Biba Mohammed on Friday, identified as the suspect in her husband’s murder in Barunde quarters. ASP Mahid Abubakar, the state Public Relations Officer, disclosed that the police responded to a distress call reporting a suspected homicide in the neighborhood.
Detectives from the Lowcost Division were sent to the scene, where they found Mohammed Maliki incapacitated. Abubakar stated that the housewife confessed to the crime during interrogation.
The PPRO said, “The victim was immediately rushed to a specialist hospital where he was pronounced dead by a medical doctor.
“Following a preliminary investigation, Biba Mohammed, the wife of the deceased, was taken into custody after confessing to the crime.
“In her statement, she admitted to using a pestle to strike his head. The case is currently under investigation at SCID and will be presented in court for prosecution upon the conclusion of the investigation.”
