Troops kill two bandits, recover weapons in Kaduna community

Troops of 1 Division of the Nigerian Army and Operation Whirl Punch have successfully carried out a clearance operation in the general area of Juji and Telele-Kaso, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, resulting in the neutralisation of two bandits. The acting deputy director of the Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Musa Yahaya, confirmed that the troops also recovered one AK-47 rifle, three AK-47 rifle magazines, five 7.62mm (special) ammunition, two locally-made hand grenades, four handsets, two motorcycles bearing, spanners, screwdrivers and two bags.

According to the statement, the bandits opened fire on the troops as soon as they approached their location. However, the troops’ superior and overwhelming firepower overpowered the bandits, neutralizing two of them, while others fled in disarray.

The General Officer Commanding 1 Division Nigerian Army and Force Commander Operation Whirl Punch, Major General Valentine Okoro, has implored the general public to continue to support the Nigerian Army and other security agencies with credible information.
