Just In: FG in meeting with NLC, TUC over nationwide strike

The Nigerian federal government is currently in a meeting with executives from the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to address the ongoing nationwide strike.

The meeting is being held at the office of the National Security Adviser (NSA), as reported by Iwitnesslive.

Key figures present at the meeting include the Minister of Labour, Simon Bako Lalong, Minister of State, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyeajeocha, and NSA Nuhu Ribadu.

Labor leaders, headed by TUC President Comrade Festus Osifo, NLC Secretary General Emmanuel Ugboaja, and other representatives from the labor sector, are also in attendance.

The nationwide strike was declared by the NLC and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), with demands including the arrest of suspected thugs and their sponsors.

This decision was made in response to the attack on the NLC president in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, on November 1, during a protest by state workers over unpaid salaries.
