The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) have announced a nationwide strike in response to the assault on NLC President, Joe Ajaero.
NLC has instructed its members to initiate a nationwide strike following the attack on its president, with organized labor urging its affiliates to implement the resolutions of the National Executive Council.
Addressing journalists on Monday, TUC President Festus Osifo stated that the strike will persist until “government at all levels wake up to their responsibility.”
In a development from last week, Organized Labour had previously declared a comprehensive and indefinite nationwide strike set to commence from Tuesday, November 14, 2023.
