INEC uploads Bayelsa, Imo, Kogi election results on IREV

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fulfilled its promise by uploading the results of Saturday’s governorship elections in Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi States on the INEC Election Viewing Portal (IREV).

Most polling units across the states closed at 2:30 pm, although some experienced extensions beyond this period. Results are directly uploaded to the IREV from the polling units following the collation and announcement by the Presiding Officer.

As of 7:00 pm on Saturday, results from approximately 1680 polling units, constituting 74.87 percent of the 2242 units where the election occurred in Bayelsa State, have been uploaded on the IREV. Notably, results from all polling units in Governor Douye Diri’s Kolokoma/Opokuma local government are available on the IREV.

In Imo state, results from 3489 out of the 4720 polling units (representing 73.33 percent) and in Kogi state, results from 2362 out of 3508 polling units (representing 67.33 percent) have been successfully uploaded.

INEC’s Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, had assured that results would be directly uploaded to the IREV from the polling units after announcement at those locations.

Despite glitches experienced during the Presidential election on the IREV, the official announcement of the election winners is anticipated to be made by the State Collation Officers at the INEC headquarters in each of the three States.
