Israel has agreed to a four-hour ceasefire each day in the northern Gaza Strip barely a month after the commencement of the war between the Israeli military and Hamas militants.

Iwitntnesslive reports that this latest development was revealed by the White House.

White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby said an announcement would be made three hours beforehand.

He said: “We’ve been told by the Israelis that there will be no military operations in these areas throughout the pause and that this process is starting today.”

Recall that on October 7, 2023, an intense conflict escalated between Israel and Hamas-led Palestinian militants from the Gaza Strip after the latter launched a multi-pronged invasion of Southern Israel.

About 10,812 Palestinians have been killed in the war in the Gaza Strip since the start of the war.
