Former Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge is advising Premier League clubs to closely monitor the exceptional performances of Bayer Leverkusen’s forward, Victor Boniface, and Napoli’s prolific striker, Victor Osimhen. Both players have been drawing significant attention with their remarkable displays, and Sturridge believes they deserve a place in the English Premier League.
Osimhen is already a recognized name, having played a pivotal role in Napoli’s Scudetto title win last season, marking the club’s first league title in over thirty years. The 24-year-old striker has captured the interest of numerous wealthy Premier League clubs due to his outstanding abilities.
Boniface, on the other hand, is steadily making a name for himself across Europe. After joining Bayer Leverkusen from the Belgian Jupiler League club Union St Gillaloise earlier this year, Boniface has made a significant impact. He has netted seven goals in just ten matches and has clinched the prestigious Rookie Player of the Month award twice.
During a conversation with Sky Sports, Sturridge shared his views on the potential of Osimhen and Boniface. He placed them in the spotlight alongside renowned players like PSG’s Kylian Mbappe and Guinean forward Guirassy, asserting that they deserve attention from top-tier English clubs.
Responding to a question from former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher, Sturridge declared, “Mbappe is the No.1! Victor Osimhen is probably the next one; we’ve seen what he can do, the goals he scores, the pace, the tenacity, and the finishing. I very much like him. But [Serhou] Guirassy is second in the scoring charts now in Germany behind [Harry] Kane, [Victor] Boniface at Leverkusen, [Maximilian] Beier who is playing in Germany as well.”
