The President of Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) Rev. Dr. Amos Mohzo has stated that economic hardship, judicial injustices and security challenges posing a great threats to the well being of the citizens of Nigeria.
According to him, it is imperative that all stakeholders, both individuals and institutions should come together to address these challenges collectively stressing that the country’s future relies on commitment of it’s citizens to uphold justice, and work collaboratively to build a better nation.
Rev. Mohzo stated this during his address at the 104th general church council held at COCIN headquarters church in Jos.
He further explained that Nigeria has experienced prolonged political dissatisfaction and growing disillusionment among the populace while citizens are also increasingly concerned abaut the country’s governance, transparency, accountability and political turmoil which has eroded trust in the system and heightened the urgency for reform and improve governance.
The president further said the economic challenges faced by the commoners in Nigeria are deeply concerning as inflation, unemployment and poverty rates have risen , making it difficult for individuals and their families to met their basic needs stressing that the impact of these economic hardship is being acutely felt and the need for sustainable economic policies is paramount .
He further argued that Nigeria’s current predicament calls for collective responsibility from all segments of the society adding that it is crucial for every individual regardless of their status, to engage in self evaluation and take active role in addressing those issues that plague the nation, justices are in short supply while calling on all Nigerians to work together to restore these values.
