The organized labor unions, represented by the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, have announced plans for a nationwide strike in response to the assault and abduction of their President, Joe Ajaero.
This strike, scheduled for Wednesday, November 8, 2023, was unveiled during a press briefing held on Friday.
The leaders of the combined labor unions have presented a six-point demand to the Federal Government, which includes the immediate removal of the Commissioner of Police, Imo State, and the Area Commander, as well as other officials implicated in the alleged brutalization and humiliation of Ajaero and other workers.
