Imo Blackout Blamed on Labour Strike by EEDC

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company Attributes Imo’s Power Loss to State Labor Union’s Strike”
In a press release by Mr. Emeka Ezeh, Head of Corporate Communications for the EEDC, it was clarified that the complete loss of electricity supply in Imo State was a direct consequence of the organized labor union’s industrial action in the state.
According to the statement, the union’s action resulted in the shutdown of the Egbu Transmission Station, which serves as the primary source of power supply for the region. Consequently, the EEDC was left without the necessary energy to distribute to its esteemed customers in Imo State.

“As a result of this development, the whole of Imo State is without electricity supply,” he said.

According to him, “We appreciate the inconveniences this situation must have caused our customers, and we hope that the issue will be resolved soon,” he said.

The EEDC spokesman, however, assured the good people of Imo that the company is on standby to restore supply once the industrial action is called off.

“EEDC is committed to improving on its processes and delivering improved services to its esteemed customers,” he added.
