The immediate past Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom has congratulated Senator Abba Moro on his resounding victory at the Court of Appeal yesterday.
Chief Ortom described the triumph of Senator Moro as the affirmation of his unwavering dedication to public service, as well as the trust and confidence bestowed on him by the people of Benue South senatorial district.
The former governor said in a statement by his media aide, Terver Akase that Senator Moro’s victory not only affirms the will of the people but also upholds the principles of justice and fairness.
Chief Ortom equally commended Senator Gabriel Suswam for his unwavering commitment to entrenching democracy through the legal process.
He noted that while Senator Suswam may not have emerged victorious in his case at the Appeal Court against Senator Emmanel Udende, his tenacity and belief in the rule of law throughout the legal process deserve immense recognition and commendation.
Chief Ortom also congratulated Senator Udende whose election has been upheld by the court and wished him a successful tenure.
The former Governor applauded the sportsmanship spirit that prevailed between Senators Suswam and Udende throughout the time that the case was in court.
He appealed to all prominent sons and daughters of Benue State that now is the time to set aside all differences and come together as one, with a renewed commitment to the development of the state.
Chief Ortom said Benue is facing the problem of insecurity and it is only through unity and collaboration that the state can overcome its challenges and work towards building a brighter future for generations to come.
