The Police Council confirmed Kayode Egbetokun as the substantive Inspector-General of Police (IGP) during a meeting presided over by President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa.
Minister of Police Affairs, Ibrahim Geidam, made this announcement to State House correspondents on Tuesday.
Geidam explained that Egbetokun’s confirmation was a result of his satisfactory performance in his acting role for the past three months since his appointment on June 20.
He also emphasized that Egbetokun has presented a comprehensive plan for enhancing the country’s security, demonstrating his suitability for the position of IGP.
