Finance Minister Edun vows to make Nigeria globally competitive

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, has committed to enhancing Nigeria’s global competitiveness.

He made this declaration during a meeting with the ministry’s management and staff in Abuja on Thursday, where he appealed for their cooperation and support in fulfilling the mandate bestowed upon him by President Bola Tinubu.

Edun also assured that the welfare of the staff would be a top priority, with plans in progress to provide compressed natural gas (CNG) buses to alleviate the challenges faced by Nigerians due to the removal of fuel subsidies.

He emphasized that CNG buses would result in lower transportation costs for Nigerians.

Explaining the essence of the meeting, Edun said it is an avenue that “let me meet my people, feel their pulse, and know what to do with them to deliver on the mandate given me by Mr.President.”

He added: “A tree does not make a forest. Working together, honouring one another, and being fair to one another can perform wonders. I encourage staff to perform excellently to deliver in their callings not only for the ministry but for the whole country.”
