On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu authorized an allocation of N18 billion to cover Group Life Assurance benefits and other entitlements for the families of fallen servicemen and women from the Nigerian Armed Forces.
Speaking at the launch of the Emblem Appeal for the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day in the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja, Tinubu made the announcement: “I have approved the sum of N18 billion for the payment of the Group Life Assurance benefits and other entitlements to the families of service members who lost their lives in the line of duty.”
Tinubu’s decision reflects gratitude for the sacrifices made by the armed forces and underscores the government’s commitment to their well-being.
He further expressed his administration’s ongoing support for the armed forces by working to enhance the institutions and provide improved service, stating, “We owe a debt of gratitude to our brave troops who have risen to the challenge of securing this great nation.”
