Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President, is presently joined by Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser, and Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), along with Julius Abure, the National Chairman of the Labour Party, at the Supreme Court. This gathering concerns the appeal brought forth by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the APC.
Tinubu, who contested the election under the ruling APC, was declared the victor by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). However, Atiku contested the results and turned to the courts.
The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal dismissed Atiku’s petition and upheld Tinubu’s victory.
Dissatisfied with this ruling, Atiku has filed an appeal with the Supreme Court and has also requested permission to present fresh evidence of forgery against Tinubu.
