A late comeback from Arsenal, aided by a goalkeeping error by Robert Sanchez, saw them salvage a point at Stamford Bridge on Saturday night.
Chelsea took an early lead when Cole Palmer converted a penalty in the 15th minute, awarded following a handball by William Saliba upon review by the video assistant referee.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side seemed in control after extending their lead to 2-0. Mykhailo Mudryk’s long-range effort caught Arsenal’s goalkeeper David Raya off guard and out of position just three minutes into the second half.
Arsenal were sloppy and struggled to create anything until they were gifted a lifeline with 13 minutes left, Declan Rice sending Chelsea keeper Robert Sanchez’s poor clearance back past him into the net.
And, remarkably, they were level seven minutes later when substitute Leandro Trossard made a decisive first contribution, stealing in at the far post to score as Chelsea hesitated in dealing with Bukayo Saka’s cross.
