NLRC conference to boost Nigerian lottery business — Gbajabiamila

In an effort to expand Nigeria’s business opportunities and foster economic growth, the Federal Government has given its approval to enhance the annual gaming conference organized by the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC) to meet international standards. This move aims to attract foreign investments and resources to the country, promoting economic development and wealth creation for Nigerians.

Lanre Gbajabiamila, the Director-General of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission, announced this significant development in a statement released in Abuja on Wednesday. The statement, signed by Magnus Ekechukwu, the Deputy Director of Public Affairs at the NLRC, highlighted the government’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment for the gaming and lottery industry.

The focus of this elevation is the upcoming 2023 edition of the conference, which is scheduled to take place on October 31 and November 1. Building upon the substantial success of the inaugural conference, which primarily involved key Nigerian stakeholders and industry players, Gbajabiamila emphasized that this year’s edition will have a more global outlook. The event is set to welcome influential figures and industry leaders from the gaming sector across Africa and around the world.

By positioning the NLRC conference at international standards, the Federal Government envisions boosting the Nigerian gaming and lottery sector, thereby facilitating job creation and economic growth, and fostering opportunities for increased wealth generation among Nigerians. This initiative reflects a proactive approach to leverage foreign investments and resources for the country’s benefit while promoting the nation as an attractive hub for business and industry growth.

According to the Director-General, the lottery commission was deliberately creating chances and openings for the Nigerian gaming industry leaders and potential investors to interact and connect with the best gaming industry giants across the world to upgrade their businesses, generate more resources, and enhance the winnings for Nigerians.

With the theme, ‘Innovation and Disruptions: Core Strategies for Success,’ the 2023 International Gaming Conference will be held at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island Lagos, featuring presentations, exhibitions, panel discussions, and Gala Night where awards will be given to outstanding stakeholders and players in different categories.

Since assuming office, Gbajabiamila has exhibited commitment towards improving the lottery industry, making it a major source of revenue for the country; and an industry to combat youth unemployment in the country.
