On Friday, October 6th, at 6 am, Drake released his eighth studio album, titled “For All The Dogs.” This release came after several weeks of delays and marks his first solo album since 2022’s “Honestly Nevermind.”
One of the standout tracks from the album is “Slime You Out,” featuring SZA, which quickly climbed to the top of the Hot 100 chart, becoming Drake’s 12th No. 1 single on the Hot 100. This achievement ties him for fifth place on the all-time list.
This accomplishment brings Drake closer to surpassing Michael Jackson, who holds the record with 13 No. 1 singles among solo male artists. In addition to “Slime You Out,” Drake built anticipation for the album by releasing the sixth installment in his “AM 2 PM” series, titled “8 AM in Charlotte,” on Thursday, October 5th.
This six-minute music video features his son, Adonis, and has sparked discussions on social media regarding the individuals Drake may be addressing in some of his lyrics. Several names, including Metro Boomin, YoungBoy NBA, Charlamagne Tha God, and Kanye West, have been mentioned in connection to the song’s lyrics.
