Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has made a firm commitment not to withdraw from his ongoing election petition case, which is presently awaiting a verdict from the Supreme Court.
At a press conference held in Abuja on Thursday, October 5, Atiku declared his determination to see the case through to its ultimate resolution, irrespective of whether the outcome is in his favor or not.
He said: “I will only drop the case when the court rules on it. If the court says I am right, fine. If it says he (President Tinubu) is right, fine.”
When responding to a question, Atiku, who ran for the presidential election on February 25 as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), disclosed that a set of incumbent governors had made an effort to convince him to abandon the case during its initial stages.
He mentioned that he declined to meet with these particular governors, who purportedly asserted that they were intervening on behalf of the President.
