Police Source Reveals Details of Sam Larry's Arrest

The Lagos State Police Command officially confirmed the arrest of the controversial Lagos socialite, known as Balogun Eletu or Sam Larry, late Thursday night. This arrest is part of an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, who was also known as Mohbad.

While the arrest has been confirmed, additional details have emerged regarding the arrest of the well-known music promoter. According to an anonymous police source who was not authorized to disclose information, Sam Larry was apprehended at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Thursday evening.

The source stated, “Sam Larry was arrested at the airport immediately upon his arrival from Kenya. Our officers took him into custody at the airport and subsequently transported him to the state police headquarters for questioning.”

This arrest is a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death, and further information is expected to emerge as the investigation unfolds.

Sam Larry’s name had featured prominently since the demand for justice over Mohbad’s death started to gain traction.

His arrest also came after late Mohbad’s former music label boss, Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley announced his plan to return to Nigeria provided his safety was guaranteed.

We report that the police had earlier invited the duo for questioning over Mohbad’s demise.

The police, last week, also confirmed that pathologists have concluded the autopsy conducted on Mohbad, while the police await the result.

Hundeyin said, “Autopsy has been concluded. Awaiting results.” This development followed the exhumation of Mohbad’s corpse by a combined team of the Nigeria Police Force and health officials.

The police had also arrested the nurse who reportedly injected the deceased singer before his demise on Tuesday, September 12.
