Kano gov appoints new 94 aides

On Tuesday, the Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf, granted approval for the appointment of an additional 94 Senior Special Assistants.

In an official statement released by his Press Secretary, Sanusi Dawakin-Tofa, in Kano on Tuesday, it was noted that among the 94 newly appointed aides, only five were women.

The women who received appointments are as follows: Rahama Kabeer Fagge, Senior Special Reporter I, Government House; Amina Isah Bebeji, Special Reporter, SEMA; Maijidda Garba, Special Reporter, REB; Fatima Usman Muhammad, Senior Special Reporter, KNARDA; and Asiya Muhammad Umar, Special Reporter, Hospitality Management Institute.

These appointments are effective immediately.

It’s worth mentioning that this is the governor’s second round of appointments in September. Earlier in the month, Yusuf appointed 14 additional Special Advisers and 44 Senior Special Reporters to various ministries, departments, and agencies in the state. 

In that previous round, there were 10 women among the 44 Senior Special Reporters and two serving as Special Advisers.
