Dele-Bashiru Emerges Victorious Despite Onuachu's Heroic Performance

In the Turkish Super Lig, former Flying Eagles midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru had the final say in a thrilling encounter on Monday, securing a dramatic stoppage-time victory for his club Hatayspor in a 3-2 home triumph over Trabzonspor, as reported by IWITNESSLIVE Sports Extra.

Paul Onuachu, who recently joined Trabzonspor on a season-long loan from English club Southampton earlier this month, delivered a standout performance in the match. He not only provided an assist but also scored a goal, taking his tally to two since his arrival at the club.

The 29-year-old Nigerian assisted in Edin Visca’s opening goal in the 44th minute and later found the back of the net himself in the 62nd minute, extending Trabzonspor’s lead to 2-0.

However, Hatayspor mounted a remarkable comeback, netting two goals in just four minutes, with Dele-Bashiru playing a crucial role in his team’s second goal in the 88th minute.

In the extra time, Dele-Bashiru netted the decisive goal in the 97th minute, clinching his team’s second league victory of the season. This goal marked his fourth in six league matches this season.

The triumph propels Hatayspor to fourth place in the Turkish Super Lig standings, accumulating 10 points from six matches, while Trabzonspor remains in sixth place, trailing by just one point in the standings.”

Onuachu will seek to add to his tally when he leads Trabzonspor in their next game against Pendikspor on Saturday just as Dele-Bashiru targets his fifth goal of the season.

Dele-Bashiru is joint-third in the top scorer’s chart in Turkey along with Aytac Kara of Kasimpasa and Edin Dzeko of Fenerbache.
