Bella Shmurda Cancels Canada Tour in Tribute to Late Friend MohBad

Renowned singer Abiola Akinbiyi, popularly known as Bella Shmurda, has decided to cancel his upcoming Canada tour as a gesture of respect and mourning for his dear friend and colleague, Ilerioluwa Aloba, famously known as MohBad. MohBad sadly passed away at the age of 27 on Tuesday.

Bella Shmurda communicated this decision on Saturday night through his social media platform, X (formerly Twitter). He mentioned that new dates for the tour, initially slated for September, would be announced in the future. 

This cancellation underscores the deep impact of MohBad’s untimely demise on the music community, prompting Bella Shmurda to pay tribute by postponing his scheduled tour.

Bella Shmurda said, “Due to the recent sad event and unforeseen circumstances, I have had to cancel my Tour of Canada. New dates would be communicated.”

It was reported that Bella Shmurda, a close friend of the late Mohbad, during an interview, had urged the deceased to exit Marlians Record over his disagreement with his manager, who is a relative of the record label boss, Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley.

Mohbad died on Tuesday at the age of 27. Mohbad’s management also released an official statement confirming his passing away.

”It is with great sadness that we confirm the passing of Promise Oladimeji Aloba PK/A Mohbad (Imole) today, the 12th of September, 2023.

“Mohbad was light until the very end, and as we mourn the loss of the brightness he carried, the family thanks you for your love and prayers, and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time. Imole is finally at Peace,” the short statement posted on both his Instagram and X handles read.
