A building that was being constructed in Asaba, Delta State collapsed, causing injuries to eight individuals.
The incident occurred on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at approximately 5 p.m when workers were on the site, located across ShopRite in the state capital. Witnesses reported hearing a loud noise as the building caved in.
One of the eyewitnesses, Onyinye Okei, stated that the injured individuals were transported to the hospital by their colleagues. The State Commissioner for Urban Renewal, Mr. Michael Anoka, attributed the incident to building defects.
The Ministry is currently investigating the matter, and the government has sealed off the compound. A report will be released once the investigation is complete.
