Irked by federal government’s non-repentant decision to retain fuel pump price, the Nigeria Labour Congres (NLC) has vowed to embark on a two-day warning strike from Tuesday, September 5, 2023, iwitnesslive.com can report
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Friday, NLC President, Joe Ajaero stated in strong terms that the two-day warning strike is necessitated by Federal Government’s failure to seek lasting solutions to some of the hardships caused by removal of fuel subsidy
The NLC is accusing the Federal Government of going back on the negotiations and failing to implement some of the resolutions from previous meetings that were held.
On August 2, the NLC held a protest on what it described as the anti-people policies of the current administration.
The NLC, Trade Union Congress (TUC) and their affiliate unions demonstrated in Abuja and several states, including Lagos, Abia, Plateau, Kaduna, Kano, and Rivers.
The protest also took place in Zamfara, Katsina, Cross River, Ebonyi, Enugu, Kwara, Ogun, Imo, Ondo, and Edo.
