The designer of the Nigerian Flag, Pa Taiwo Akinkunmi, has died at the age of 87
His son, Akinwumi Samuel, announced his demise via his Facebook page on Wednesday
Pa Taiwo Akinkunmi, the creator of the Nigerian flag, passed away at the age of 87.
On Wednesday, Akinwumi Samuel, his son, posted on his Facebook page that his father had passed away.
He wrote, “Life is indeed transient; I can say boldly you live a life with a landmark. Continue to rest on, my father! Pa Michael Taiwo Akinkunmi (O.F.R) Great Man has gone.”
When Akinkunmi’s design was chosen as the Nigerian flag, the government gave him 100 pounds.
President Goodluck Jonathan also bestowed upon him the Order of Federal Republic award.
