By David Kabiyesi

Word was rife in Abuja that Super Eagles gaffer, Jose Peseiro will feature fringe players for September 10 dead rubber AFCON qualifiers against Sao Tome in Uyo, iwitnesslive.com can report.

The essence of this move, iwitnesslive.com gathered is give some new plays the much needed opportunity to showcase their talents, and more importantly ascertain if they are right materials for the national team.

With AFCON ticket already in the bag, NFF feels it won’t be a bad idea if new players are given a chance to prove their mettle in the absence of the big boys.

Meanwhile, all invited players are expected to converge in Uyo when camping open September  4.

Nigeria qualified for 2024 AFCON with a 3-2 defeat of Sierra Leone in their last game of the qualifying series.
