Experts laud AFN Team Nigeria lists initiative as Amusan trains in Budapest

Athletics experts have continued to shower encomium on the Athletics Federation of Nigeria for their huge foresight, which prompted the inclusion of 100m Hurdles World Record holder, Tobi Amusan in Team Nigeria’s lists for the global showpiece.

Abuja-based trainer, Mohammed Qudus lauded the Tonobok Okowa-led AFN as well Technical Director, Samuel Onikeku and Secretary General, Rita Mosinde for standing by the athletes until her case is won.

”We need to really commend AFN for believing in Tobi to the extent that her name was included in the main lists even when nobody was sure she would be pardoned. I cannot imagine what a huge loss it would have been for the entire Africa if the World Record holder was dropped only for her to be pardoned afterward,’ he said.

Meanwhile, Tobi Amusan commenced training today in Budapest after she arrived at the venue last night. Although the athlete has been training in Atlanta, US since her suspension claiming that is innocent of every allegation allegation

Reigning World 100m hurdles champion and record holder, Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan, is set to commence training this morning after she arrived in Budapest, Hungary, yesterday ahead of her event, as the 19th World Athletics Championships begin today.

World Athletics cleared the 26-year-old Amusan of charges of three whereabouts failures on Thursday evening.
