According to a security expert, Boko Haram fighters have successfully taken control of 60 terrorists belonging to the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP), including three important commanders.
The battle between the two groups reportedly took place on Monday. This information was shared by Zagazola Makama through his social media platform on Wednesday.
According to Zagozola, the capture of ISWAP terrorists occurred while they were en route to Damasak in Borno State. The commanders were identified as Abubakar Saddiq, Abou Maimuna, and Malam Idris. Due to the recent turn of events, the Boko Haram Buduma factions gained the upper hand against ISWAP and captured most of their enclaves. As a result, ISWAP was forced to seek refuge in more fortified hideouts in the Kukawa and Madayi as well as Kwatan Mota areas.
