Determined to clean up every financial mess perpetrated by detained Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele and his cronies, President Bola Tinubu has authorized Special Investigator, Jim Obazee to investigate and deal decisively with any erring staff of CBN found guilty of financial misappropriation for the last nine years, iwitnesslive.com can report.
Already, Obazee has commenced mass drilling of CBN staff and other related financial institutions leading to several arrests and detentions
The ex-Chief Executive of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRC) also ordered the interrogation of many CBN staffs last week as the body carried out its assignment with much tenacity
iwitnesslive.com decent source revealed that the team is also beaming its searchlight on other institutions with Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company Limited and Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement Systems Plc top on its priority lists.
More importantly, all co-conspirators” of the suspended CBN chief, Godwin Emefiele who lined their pocket with the nation’s wealth will not be spared in the upcoming wind of change that is currently blowing through the nation’s financial systems.
“In the coming weeks, heads will roll across the board. The level of rot seen in the system could not have been perpetrated by one man. If that is the case, those who work with him could not have been angels. I don’t know the scale of sanction that will follow but I can tell you that a lot of people will not go unpunished,” a source revealed.
