Katsina Lawmaker Urges President Tinubu to Mobilize Security Forces Against Rising Insecurity

Abdullahi Aliyu Ahmed, the elected representative of the Musawa/Matazu Federal Constituency in Katsina State, has issued a plea to President Bola Tinubu, urging immediate action to deploy a sufficient number of security personnel to combat the escalating incidents of killings and associated banditry in Katsina State.

In response to a recent protest staged by his constituency members concerning the relentless wave of killings and abductions targeting farmers within the region, Ahmed emphasized that the swift deployment of security operatives within the state holds the key to eradicating the prevailing insecurity and curbing the activities of criminals operating in the vicinity.

The current strategy for combating the security challenge is not enough to surmount the challenges. The peace-loving residents of the state are homeless and economically worthless”.

“Insecurity has become a major clog in the wheel of farmers’ progress in the Musawa/Matazu Federal Constituency,” he said, adding that he recently donated four trucks of fertilizer to the farmers but “they hardly access their farmlands because of insecurity.

“I condemn the resurgence of killings and destruction of valuable property in Katsina State. The people of the state, especially my constituents from villages in Musawa and Matazu local governments, can no longer carry out their lawful businesses because of persistent bandit attacks.”
“I, therefore, call on our amiable president, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to, as a matter of urgency, deploy massive security personnel to Katsina in order to end the wanton destruction of lives and property in the state”.

Ahmed assured the people that he was working with the Senator representing the Funtua zone, Hon. Muntari Dandutse, and the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Olukayode Egbetokun, to deploy 600 mobile police officers to the senatorial zone to tame banditry.
