In the wake of a decree broadcasted on national television on Thursday, the military authorities in Niger, who took control through a coup last month, have established a fresh government.
The decree, which was officially proclaimed, designates Prime Minister Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine to lead the 21-member government. The new military governing council’s generals will oversee the defense and interior ministries.
