Ganduje's ratification as APC chairman, dent on anti-corruption- PDP blasts!

By David Kabiyesi

People Democratic Party(PDP) has described the appointment of erstwhile Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje as a huge blow to anti-corruption given his reign while in public office.

Recall All Progressives Congress (APC) National Executive Committee (NEC), ratified Ganduje, also  Ajibola Basiru as the party’s chairman and National Secretary respectively during its meeting at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, but criticism has continued to trail the ratification of the former.

The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in a statement by its spokesman, Debo Ologunagba, said: “It speaks volumes of the APC under Bola Tinubu that Ganduje, who should ordinarily be under prosecution by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged bribery, is rather crowned and rewarded with the position of APC National Chairman.

“Such can only happen in a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) like the APC, which, according to the former Director General of Progressive Governors’ Forum, is replete with ‘political bandits’.”   “A crushing defeat awaits Ganduje and his party in the November 11, 2023 governorship elections in Bayelsa, Kogi and Imo states.” PDP added
