Subsidy Removal: Kogi speaker begs Gov Bello to ease citizens' burden

Kogi Assembly Speaker,  Umar Yusuf, on Thursday appealed to Gov Yahaya Bello to provide succour for citizens of the state to cushion the effect of the subsidy removal by the Federal Government.

The speaker, who made the appeal at the state legislature’s plenary in Lokoja, said the people of the state were not finding life easy with the current economic hardships in the country.

“This appeal to our good hearted governor became imperative in view of the fact that things are hard as a result of the subsidy removal by the Federal Government.

“I am indeed appreciative of the people of the state for conducting themselves lawfully in spite of the current discomfort and economic hardship.

“I am also optimistic that the new direction of the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello will leave no stone unturned at providing succour to the people of the state, ” he said.
