In what has now appeared as compensatory gestures, President Bola Tinubu has appointed five more former Governors who worked for his victory at the last elections as five of them were named in the new batch of the ministerial list submitted to the National Assembly on Wednesday.
The former Governors are Bello Matawalle (Zamfara), Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi), Simon Lalong (Plateau), and Ibrahim Geidam (Yobe) and Isiaka Oyetola (Osun).
President Tinubu also appointed Heineken Lokpobiri, who served as Minister in the first term of President Muhammadu Buhari.
It will be recalled that the Progressives Governors Forum stood by the President when he was seeking the ticket under the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Bagudu was the chairman of the Forum while Lalong served as the Director-General of his campaign.
In all, there are 19 names on the list. See below:
