Convicted Nigerian Senator, Ekweremadu’s Son, Appointed Commissioner in Enugu State Amidst Father's Conviction in UK Court

The son of Senator Ike Ekweremadu, the convicted ex-deputy senate president, has been appointed as a commissioner in Enugu state.

The recently announced list of commissioner nominees by the secretary to the state government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, includes Barr. Lyod Ekewermadu, who happens to be the eldest son of Senator Ike Ekweremadu.

The London Metropolitan Police arrested the senior Ekweremadu in June of the previous year on allegations related to the participation of Mr. Nwanini, a minor who was brought to London for organ harvesting.

A UK court has found Ike Ekweremadu guilty and sentenced him to nine years and eight months in prison.

In addition, his wife, Beatrice, received a sentence of four years and six months, while the doctor implicated in the matter, Obinna Obeta, was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
