Kaduna State House of Assembly Confirms 13 Commissioner-Nominees

Thirteen commissioner-nominees sent to the Kaduna State House of Assembly by Governor Uba Sani have been screened and confirmed. The speaker, Hon. Yusuf Dahiru Liman, announced the receipt of 14 nominees for screening and confirmation on Tuesday.

To begin the screening process, the House set aside Order 7 Rule 10 and convened into a committee of the whole, led by the majority leader of the House, Ahmad Muhammad, who represents Zaria Kewaye.

Among those confirmed were Hon. Aminu Abdullahi Shagali, the former 8th speaker of the Assembly, along with Umma Kaltume Ahmed, Mukhtar Ahmed, Arch. Dr. Ibrahim Hamza, Sule Shua’ibu, Shizzer Nasara Joy Bada, Professor Muhammad Sani Bello, Salisu Rabi, Professor Benjamin Kumari Gugong, Abubakar Bubba, Sadiq Mamman Lagos, Murtala Muhammad Dabo, and Patience Fakai.

However, Auwal Musa Shugaba, one of the nominees, was not screened as he failed to appear before the Assembly. The chairman of the House Committee on Information, Hon. Marah Henry Zachariah, explained that the nominees’ impressive records led to their selection, and they are expected to carry out their duties diligently.
