FIFA WWC: Super Falcons have much to offer-Oshoala

By David Kabiyesi

Super Falcons striker, Asisat Oshoala says the world is yet to see the best from the Nigeria women’s national team.

Still basking in the euphoria of Nigeria’s 3-2 win over The Maltidas on Thursday, Oshoala maintained that Super Falcons have a lot to offer the world in the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Oshoala came into the game in the second half and pounced on Australia’s defensive errors to score Nigeria’s third goal of the match, but the Matildas fought back to get a consolation goal as Nigeria eventually won 3-2.

“As I said before, this team has a lot to offer and everyone has seen that today,” she said

Asked if she had any mixed feelings with the coach’s decision to bench her from the start, Oshoala stated that team spirit superceed individual desire, adding that she opted to put the team first.

” Yeah some decision my not go the way you think but I’m not a selfish person, that is why we have lots of players in the team. If anyone is not playing, other players can step up and as you can see today, they all stepped up and rose to the occassion,” Oshoala said after the match.
