On Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu held a meeting with the embattled national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdulahi Adamu, and the national secretary, Iyiola Omisore, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Both men attended the meeting in the president’s office and were seen leaving after the session at about 1.30 pm. It is worth noting that both former leaders of the ruling party reportedly resigned about a week ago following a meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC).
However, since the meeting, both Adamu and Omisore have chosen to remain tight-lipped about the incident. While Adamu stated that he will consult with the president before commenting on his alleged resignation, Omisore’s lawyer, Kayode Ajulo, asserted on Monday that his client has not resigned from his position.
Though there hasn’t been any official communication regarding the purpose of the visit, it is plausible that the meeting is somehow related to the issue of their resignations.
