In a profoundly moving video, Jamie Foxx, the acclaimed Hollywood actor, and Oscar winner, has finally opened up about the life-changing illness he bravely fought against.
On his Instagram page, the 55-year-old actor held back tears while sharing the “hellish” journey he endured during his illness.
In his first public address since this harrowing experience, Jamie Foxx courageously offered a glimpse into the immense physical and emotional toll the illness took on him.
He expressed deep gratitude for his recovery and the unwavering support of those around him, sharing his hopes for the future with heartfelt sincerity.
“I went through something I thought I would never go through,” Foxx said, informing his 16 million followers he’s not “blind” or “paralyzed.”
“I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear an update but to be honest with you, I didn’t want you to see me like that man,’ he admitted
“I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, or a television show. I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through.”
Although the actor kept his sickness a secret, he is now “on the road to recovery.”
Foxx thanked his daughter Corinne Foxx, 29, and sister Deondra Dixon for saving his life.
“To them, to God, to a lot of great medical people, I’m able to leave you this video,”
“I cannot tell you how great it feels to have your family kick in in such a way, and y’all know they kept it airtight, they didn’t let nothing out, they protected me, and that’s what I hope that everyone could have in moments like these. But, I’m coming back, and I am able to work.”he said.
