Simisola Kosoko, the renowned songstress known as Simi, has set the record straight regarding her past relationship with rapper Falz The Bahd Guy. She clarified that their connection was solely professional and not romantic, contrary to widespread speculations.
During an interview on MTV Base Africa’s program, Official Naija Top 10, Simi shed light on their collaborative journey. Their initial work on the song “JAMB Question Remix” received a positive response from fans, which motivated them to collaborate further on “Soldier.” Although their musical chemistry was evident and sparked rumors of romantic involvement, Simi revealed that these assumptions were misconceptions.
While acknowledging the undeniable musical synergy between them, they decided to embrace it strategically. As a result, they collaborated on an album titled “Chemistry,” a project inspired by fans who saw their connection as something more profound than a mere musical partnership. Nonetheless, Simi made it clear that their relationship remained strictly professional, emphasizing the importance of not misinterpreting their artistic camaraderie.
In her words:
“He [Falz] did a verse on my song, ‘JAMB Question Remix’. And I was like, ‘Ah! Me and this guy, there is a vibe there.’ So, we did ‘Soldier’, and everybody was like, the chemistry is so amazing.
“We never saw that. People bought what we were not selling. And we were like, okay, this is a strategy. So, we did ‘Chemistry’ the album. People gave us the name and the idea. We never actually came and say, oh, we are dating.”
