Embattled Super Falcons gaffer, Randy Waldrum said the girls have put the bonus row behind them and are looking forward to picking three points against Canada in their FIFA Women’s World Cup opener on Friday morning.
In an interview with Reuters after Wednesday’s training, Waldrum played down rumors that the Falcons are planning to boycott their opening fixture against Canada.
The gaffer assured that the players have vowed to ignore bonus row and focus on the daunting task of beating Canada.
He said: “We will be there. All of that transpired before we came and I think the team, once we all arrived here, have just focused on Canada,”
“We met about it the first night we arrived, and at that point, we all just agreed not to continue to discuss it, not let it be out there and that we’re here to do a job,” he said
