Nigerian singer Burna Boy has finally responded to Davido’s comments where he was refers to as “new cat” in the music industry.
Burna Boy said in an interview that he feels so good to have been refers to as new cat in the music terrain.
“It is a good thing that people think my movement is new,”
“I love that. Because it keeps me young. It means like, I can do so much more, you know. It stretches my life span.”
“I feel blessed that I can do different genres,” Burna Boy said. “It would have been a waste if I had restricted myself to a genre. Music is bigger than a genre.” Burna Boy said.
Davido’s remark came during an interview with Ebro Darden on Hot 97. Davido said that he and Wizkid had paved the way for the “new cats” in the Afrobeats music industry, and that Burna Boy was one of those “new cats” alongside Rema, Asake, Fireboy DML etc.
