The late mother-in-law of the former Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola (SAN), was laid to rest on Thursday, with numerous dignitaries present at the occasion.
The funeral service for Madam Edith Dibofu, who passed away on June 24 at the age of 87, took place at St. Dominic Catholic Church, Yaba, Lagos.
Among the esteemed guests were Lagos Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, and his wife, the First Lady of the State, Mrs. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu.
During the church service, Reverend Father Martin Artisebamo delivered a heartfelt homily, describing Madam Dibofu as a woman of profound faith, wholeheartedly devoted to Jesus.
He praised her for nurturing her children to care for and embrace all those they encountered on their path.
The late matriarch played a key role in establishing the Catholic Charismatic in the parish, displaying boundless love for people and actively championing justice for the voiceless and the weak.
The clergy hailed her life as an exemplary one and prayed for her eternal rest.
Archbishop of Lagos, Adewale Martins, conveyed the church’s condolences to the immediate and extended family members of the deceased and prayed that her legacies would live on in the lives of her relatives and within the Church community.
Adekunle Adeojo, the eldest son of the deceased, expressed gratitude on behalf of the family to all those who attended and extended their blessings.
He especially appreciated the clergymen who came from Lagos, Kwara, and other states to be part of the event.
Following the service, a reception for the guests was held at the Harbour Point event centre in Victoria Island, Lagos.
