On Thursday, Governor Adeleke appointed Mr. Tunji Adeleke (Jnr), the son of the late Osun State governor Isiaka Adeleke and elder brother of the current governor, as the chairman of the Local Government Service Commission. Additionally, Rasaq Salinsile, the chairman of the defunct Rauf Aregbesola’s faction of the All Progressives Congress in the state, was named chairman of the Teaching Service Commission.
Other appointments included Prof. Wale Oladipo, the ex-National Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party, as the chairman of the Osun State University Governing Council, and Mr. Diran Odeyemi, the ex-PDP Deputy National Publicity Secretary, as the chairman of the Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke.
Furthermore, the list of chairmen for state statutory boards included Mr. Gbenga Onigbogi for the University of Ilesa, Mr. Diran Ayanbeku for the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Mr. Peter Babalola for the Osun State College of Education, Ila, and Senator Kola Ogunwale for the Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa.
Governor Adeleke has given the green light to the appointment of Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of non-statutory boards in the state, as announced by Rasheed. Among those appointed are Dr. Kingsley Akinroye, Chairman of the State Hospital Management Board; Mr. Ibukun Fadipe, Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board; Mr. Muyiwa Oloso, Chairman of the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation; Mr. Taju Adisa, Chairman of the Primary Healthcare Board; Alhaji Maruf Ishola, Chairman of the Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim Wing); and Mr. Funso Ishola, Chairman of the Pilgrims Welfare Board (Christian Wing). Additionally, Dr. Muyiwa Oladimeji was appointed Chairman of the Osun Health Insurance Agency; Mr. Niyi Owolade, Chairman of the Osun State University Teaching Hospital; Mr. Ebenezer Ebenco, Chairman of the Council for Arts and Culture; Mr. Akanfe Atidade, Chairman of the Housing Loans Board; Mr. Kolade Adeleke, Chairman of the Osun Tourism Board; and Mr. Sola Adewumi, Chairman of the Osun Internal Revenue Service.
Yesterday, the Governor conducted the swearing-in of 25 commissioners and three permanent secretaries, and the following day, the new appointments were made official. These appointments are now in effect.
