Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang has assured the people of the state that his election is God’s mandate and believes that God would not allow evil people to destroy the state during his tenure.
Mutfwang gave the assurance on Sunday during a thanksgiving service in honour of Plateau State House of Assembly’s former speaker, Rt. Hon. Abok Ayuba held at COCIN RCC Church Jos Jarawa.
The governor urged the citizens of the state to have faith in God, saying Plateau State would prosper again despite the incessant attacks and killings.
He stated that the state would be victorious and challenge all Plateau citizens to unite against the enemies.
“It is time to unite as a people, the land God had given Plateau people as an inheritance has a purpose for them to guard it jealously.
“I urged all Plateau citizens irrespective of tribes, religion to unite to fight against the enemies of the state.
“Let us not be careless, but stand united to ensure that peace returns to Plateau State.”
Mutfwang described him as a young leader who has impacted positively and has stood to defend the state.
According to the governor, Ayuba has struggled in life as a young leader through doggedness and standing firm in God who has strengthened his leadership.
He tasks young leaders to emulate the doggedness of the former speaker.
Former Speaker of Plateau State Rt. Hon. Abok Ayuba in his remarks, thank God for a successful tenure as the speaker of the 9th Plateau House Assembly.
“There were many challenges but with the support of the Plateau people and my colleagues, we surmounted them.
“Mutfwang is here to restore the glory of Plateau and we must all support him to succeed,” he added.
