Let prodigal son, Sunday Igboho return-Yoruba bigwigs beg President Tinubu

By David Kabiyesi

As part of its plan to ensure peace reign in the nation, some top Yoruba chieftains are appealing to President Bola Tinubu to tamper justice with mercy and grant Sunday Igboho presidential pardon, iwitnesslive.com scooped.

Sunday Igboho whose real name is Sunday Adeyemo remained exiled in neighbouring Benin Republic for over three years following his role in the agitation for a Yoruba nation under Buhari administration, but some top Yoruba politicians are begging Asiwaju to pardon the activists.

iwitnesslive.com gathered that the President seems unruffled about what the future holds for the activist and would not want the agitation for Yoruba nation to unsettle his government at the moment. But efforts are still in the pipeline to step-up appeals until President Tinubu forgive Igboho

Also, the National Leader, of Yoruba Self-Determination Coalition (YSDC), Demola Edward posited that allowing Igboho to return to Nigeria would be in the best interest of national unity given Tinubu’s fatherly figure.

“We urge President Tinubu, who was himself an agitator for democracy during the June 12, 1993 saga, to pardon Chief Sunday Adeyemo because his agitation was solely for the security and development of the Yoruba South-West region.” the group leader said

It remains to be seen if the President will be willing to welcome Sunday igboho back into the fold given the clarion call for the need to set up local security operatives that will checkmate the rising tide of Fulani herdsmen in South West forests.
