The House of Representatives Grants President tinubu’s Request for Amendment to 2022 Appropriation Act to Provide N500 Billion Palliatives

On Thursday, the House of Representatives approved President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s request to amend the 2022 appropriation act, allowing the Federal Government to access N500 billion for palliatives aimed at mitigating the impact of subsidy removal on Nigerians. 

The approval came after deliberations by House members, who emphasized the importance of ensuring the funds are utilized appropriately for their intended purpose.

Members of the House took the opportunity to commend President Tinubu for his decisive action in removing fuel subsidies and demonstrating his attentiveness to the concerns of Nigerians. Julius Ihonvbare, the House Leader, presented the request to members for debate and highlighted the President’s commitment to listening to the people’s aspirations.

However, Minority Leader Kingsley Chinda emphasized that the measure of a responsible and responsive government lies in its actions.
