During a consultation with Olu Verheijen, the Energy Adviser to President Bola Tinubu, the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) announced that it will unveil the updated gas pricing template today.
Engr. Farouk Ahmed, the Chief Executive Officer of the Authority, shared this news during the inauguration ceremony of the “Decade of Gas” headquarters in Abuja.
Engr. Farouk Ahmed highlighted that the NMDPRA has actively collaborated with key stakeholders, including the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).
Additionally, he emphasized that the authority has sought input from the commercial sector, and all parties involved have expressed their agreement with the newly proposed pricing template.
According to him: “Recently we have been engaging with all the stakeholders in arriving at the domestic price for gas.
“Very soon after the review with the Adviser today (Wednesday), we want to release the new price for the sector.
“We have consulted with NERC. We have consulted with the commercial sector and we have all aligned on the pricing and today we want to release the new price.”
