Damilola Opeyemi, a housewife, has been detained in the Abolongo Correctional facility, Oyo town, following allegations that she fatally stabbed her husband over a dispute concerning noodles.
The Magistrate Court sitting in Iyaganku, Ibadan, remanded her pending legal advice from the Oyo State Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP).
During the court proceedings, Magistrate P.O. Adetuyibi refrained from taking the suspect’s plea. The case was adjourned until September 27 for mention.
Damilola was charged with murder, as stated by the Police Prosecution, Inspector Olalekan Adegbite.
According to the prosecution, the incident occurred on July 4 at approximately 8:30 PM, resulting in the death of her husband.
Adegbite said: “The couple who lived at Adogba Ajegede area, Ibadan, stabbed her husband, Oluwashina, 27, during a fight over noodles dinner.”
The offense is in violation of Section 316 and is punishable under Section 319 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000.
